Obertauern is an internationally praised resort. With 100km of groomed slopes, 26 state-of-the-art cable cars, a 2315m peak and a reputation for being an absolute snow magnet, it is easy to see why. The area offers unparalleled off-piste terrain for freeriders along with endless possibilities. Furthermore, the tree runs are like a minefield. It is no surprise the Beatles used Obertauern to film their 1965 film “Help!” Obertauern is a magnificently scenic resort. Coupled with excellent ski and snowboarding conditions, it is an easy choice for any snow fanatic.

Snow enthusiasts of all kinds and abilities have flocked here since its first skiers in 1920 who were so keen that they arrived on foot, baggage taken by horse-drawn sleighs. The resort has come a long way since then, and with 280 snow canons, you are guaranteed snow all winter. Your pass will also let you explore the Großeck-Speiereck ski region, just 15 kilometres from the resort.
