The region Via Lattea, often referred to as The Milky Way, is a winter sports area in the Italian and French Alps, located at the French-Italian border at Claviere/Montgenèvre. Five ski resorts are included in the lift pass and covering the pistes from edge to egde will take you approximately an entire day. The impressive ski system comprises a whopping 400 km of slopes and Sauze D'Oulx offers very varied skiing where most of the skiing takes place in the surroundings of idyllic forest trails and many cozy restaurants. The core of Sauce d'Oulx has maintained its historic alpine village look with houses that are more than a thousand years old. Also, when the Olympic Games were held here in 2006 much of the skilift system was completely modernised and in the area around Sestriere the lift system is especially effective. In Sauze D'Oulx everything is in close proximity of oen another and the slopes take you straight down to the village, and this is only one of the few advantages of the skiing in Sauze D'Oulx.
