Ski Lessons in Wengen, Switzerland

Wengen, Switzerland

Car-free and charming Wengen offers 160 kilometres of slopes in the local area, mostly for beginners, intermediates and families. In addition to that, you get access to Grindelwald where you will find a broad variety of descents. Regardless of your skiing level, Wengen will satisfy your skiing cravings!

Wengen is located centrally in the Swiss Alps on a wide plateau that gives you a stunning view of the Lauterbrunnen valley. It is surrounded by the three most characteristic and famous peaks of the Alps: Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau.

Wengen is more or less car-free; the only vehicles allowed are a couple of publically-used electric cars. In order to get to and from the village, you take the Wengeralp rail road which also transports you up the mountain to Wengen's local ski area, Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen.

Even though Wengen is placed on a steep mountainside, the slopes are actually not as steep as expected and cater mostly to beginners and intermediates. Especially the long, blue slope, that starts in Kleine Scheidegg and takes you all the way down to the lowest point of the area is worth mentioning for intermediate skiers.

Are you an experienced skier and want more than just blue slopes? Do not despair! - the most well-known descent of the area, Laubernhorn downhill race course, which is used for annual alpine World Cups, is exactly what you are looking for!

Master of the plough or carving king?

Skimundi's well-educated ski instructors in Wengen all share a great passion for skisports! Whether you want to become the new master of the plough or carving king, our ski school has the right instructor for you. We guarantee that your ski holiday in Wengen will be both fun and safe!

If there is enough snow, beginners will start their lessons at the open and sunny plateau in the middle of the village. On the other hand, if the snow is lacking a bit, the beginner area at Wengernalp and Kleine Scheidegg are perfect substitutes!

As a more skilled and experienced skier, the instructor will show you the best spots in the mountains.

Lunch in the snow without skis!

Even though you do not ski, you can still go to the top of the mountain. The Mannlichen gondola and the Wengernalp rail road both transports you to the mountain stations from where you have access to many bars and restaurants. That is, even though you do not ski, you can still enjoy your lunch in the sun and snow!

If you go to 'Europe's Top' at Jungfraujoch, you can enjoy the breath-taking view of the protected Aletsch glacier. Here you will also find an exciting multi-media exhibtion, an ice palace and an Indian restaurant, all in more than 3.400 metres above sea level!

After a long day of skiing, a beer can be much needed. Even though the village is mostly focused on families and attracts many middle-aged couples there is still a chance of going aprés-skiing. The bars Sinas and the Rocks are both cosy places for getting together when the lifts close.
